The Holy Spirit Convincing and Convincing Us

I was reflecting on C.S. Lewis's conversion. He didn't want to become a Christian, but he felt the Holy Spirit convincing him and compelling him. I love that image of like we all are moved by the prodigal son, but that's not the ultimate expression of love. It goes beyond that to dragging reluctant converts into the kingdom. The hardness of God is kinder than the softness of men and his compulsion as our liberation. That's the power of the Holy Spirit.
