People get power by advancing the interest of other people be it in a school or at work and then the paradox begins which is once you feel powerful you lose all the skills that got you power. People don't necessarily advance the interest of others to gain power on purpose most of the time right? It's not purely altruistic but also it's not like if i help enough people i can essentially screw all those people over well there's a little bit of that going on.
