People don't need a horse and buggy when they can get an automobile for the same price. It can't be innovated enough to make any difference. The product will die off. But does the company who makes those buggy whips need to go extinct along with this product in the way they were set up? Yes. When the mission of the company is to make the best buggy whips ever, when no one wants that product any more, there's no way you can innovate to be useful.
