In 1992, as the Intifada war on Yitzhak Rabin was elected prime minister in Israel, he ran on a platform of trying to find a peaceful political solution. He worked with President Clinton with PLO chairman Yasser Arafat to end the violence. But BB Netanyahu and the Likud party had not had enough; they saw Rabin's willingness to give up land as a heresy. In 1994, there's a big protest against Oslo bearing a coffin bearing an inscription that says any PM who stands against Zionism is a traitor.
