Postmodernism is inherently unstable and almost guaranteed to be at odds with reality. It's very difficult to conceive of it lasting very long as a democratic political regime. Trump is getting his first really big test against reality, maybe not his first one. The USA will still exist, but maybe as something more like Russia broken utterly and corrupt. And so that's where we are. This is the most pessimistic I think I've ever been in any public facing statement I've ever made."
