The Importance of Moral Psychology in Politics
There's an activity of politics of continually making the case both by assent as well as by argument for certain kinds of values. It may be that there's a moral psychology to this, which is more primal than cultural influence. Beautiful people know they don't deserve beauty. Intelligence is something that's status-confirming. We can do similar things in our political discourse for other things.
