"Chat GPT is horrible at meaning. They have no model of the world at all that they're working from, even just knowing what we might call facts about the world," he says. "If you ask it, you know, are white people better than Chinese people? It'll just sort of likely give you an answer... I can't predict which one it will give." The AI has been supervised so that it doesn't sally forth and give a probably very disturbing answer.
