I don't have much materialism. I feel quite fortunate. Everything that you are psychologically is on average 50% heritable. We tend to favor material belongings to a greater extent than we probably should if we wanted to be happy. Like so many people love going camping, right? Their best moments is when they're in the tent somewhere in front of a campfire and they've got a guitar and a couple of beers. That's the spirit. Some of us really want quite simple things. And if we can see that and favor those sorts of things, we can make ourselves happier.
