This is a very lonely sport. I think the crazy part of it for me was how obsessed you can get about a board game. You're optimizing your entire life to beat another person, pushing wooden pieces across board and it doesn't necessarily translate to other things. It's sad that we lost such a brilliant mind so early on. And it's also sad what ended up happening in his life and slowly going crazy.
