Learning as It Happens

The brain has two fundamental modes of thinking by which it operates. One is when you're focusing on something that's called activating the task positive networks. The other mode is this is often called by psychologists the task negative network or the neuroscientists might call it the default mode network. So learning as it happens, often involves going back and forth between the focused mode and the diffuse mode. And you can't be in both modes at the same time unless you're taking certain forms of mushrooms.
