Dewey's the Public and Its Problems

Balaji: Can we try and actually like dig into this underlying concept that seems to be attractive to the web community. So let me go back to Dewey's 1927 book The Public and its Problems. What Dewey describes is that governments are created to deal with the fact that markets are an insufficient way to manage the interdependencies of social phenomena. And so what he argues is that we need to have a process by which new publics emerge that are not aligned to historical geographic nation states.
