The Confession of Augustine
Augustine would have been disappointed if you thought you're reading the confession just to find out about Augustine. The only reason he tells us about his sins is because he wants to highlight the great mercy of God and praise God who saved him from those sins. And so that's why he says in the revisions in his 70s that this work was about the praise of God.
