Joel and Dana Fresno's Relationship to the Murders

Dana and Joel attracted suspicion when they both moved in the Jules Fresno home just weeks after the murders. They also seemed to adopt something of a party lifestyle buying brand new pagers and other electrical equipment as well as drinking an unusual amount of champagne for people who ought to be grieving a loss. Police had already confirmed that Joel was unemployed and it was clear that Dana was funding his lifestyle. But why exactly would he be doing that? It could have been out of the kindness of his heart but homicide detectives believe there was another far more sinister reason for it. This connection was finally identified when law enforcement began to focus on identifying the murder weapon.
