The First Eulogy by Ben Jonson - The Only First Hand Description of Shakespeare
This is probably the only surviving first hand description of shakespeare penned by someone who knew him in life. If there was more that johnson knew, either for some reason he left it out, or he just didn't consider it significant or interesting enough. There are other desi ons about sh Shakespeare, his personality, his appearance, but it's very uncertain whether any of those people really knew him.
