Exercise during pregnancy was generally seen and considered to be a good thing until the Victorian era. Aristotle and Plutarch urged Greek women to exercise to decrease pain during childbearing which is something we now know to be true for pregnant women who exercise. By the 18th century they were recommending uh maybe no dancing and maybe no horseback riding while while you're pregnant. They're like that's a lewd thing to do. A pregnant woman. Have some respect.
