Transgender Women in the Club Scene
When I moved to New York in 1993 it wasn't until 1990 oh gosh 1998 yeah 1998 that I started medically transitioning. It was meeting transgender women in the club scene and I had all these ideas about who trans people were based on what I seen in the media. When I meet these women who are really smart and beautiful and ambitious and type me like me and um I saw myself in them. Those women gave me the courage to go to Dr. Ish's office in 1998 from my first tour mount shot in the beginning of my medical transition.
