Aristotle says there are different types of friendships, not to say that one is like better than the other. It's in the same way here, like different people, but it's kind of what Cicero is talking about. He talks about how the rabble see greatness and that that tends to deal with fame primarily,. But fame often ends in injustice and self-focus. That doesn't necessarily mean a truly great or courageous man. The delineation to me gets a little squiffy.
