Black Elk and the Duhamel Pageant

The Duhamel Sioux Indian Pageant was one of the things that Black Elk did alongside his work as a catechist in his later years. At least at some point in his life, Black Elk believed that people who were dying could sometimes receive glimpses of the future. And there are various deathbed phenomena that have been studied by parapsychologists including visions of departed loved ones and angels.
