Is the Internet the Same as Cinema?

I think there's a couple of layers here. First, I don't think the porn is the same as cinema. You need to pay a hefty amount of money to go and see that film. And cinema also has a context. But Mary Whitehouse might have argued if she was sat here. The fact that cinema and TV was allowed to show us that's rude things is why we have such a lax attitude to the internet being open and free. Thereby making us less scared about the internet. Had we kept our standards high in our mainstream media, we would never have tolerated the internet and pornography in the first place. That was uncanny. Thank you. It's not what she said
