The Origins of Chandragupta Moria
The origins of Chandragupta Moria are obscure and poorly documented. He was born sometime during the middle of the 4th century BC, maybe around the year 340 in the heart of the Magadan kingdom. The Greco-Roman authors refer to him variously as Sandrakatus or Andrakatus, but to us he is better known as Chandragupta Moria. It is believed that he was connected to the Nanda dynasty through his mother, who was a royal concubine to the Nandan king.
