Kinship and Corruption

In general kinship ties are much closer than ethnic ties and so I've done some work where we've looked at other people's analyses that tried to use ethnic favoritism as an explanation for corruption. We suggested that actually what's really being picked up in most of those cases isn't ethnic favoritism rather it's something like kin favoritism  and the norms that are associated with existing in a small-scale kin-based society.
