How DeepMind Solved an Impossible Problem in Biology
DeepMind's AI program can solve a protein structure in seconds. This is one of two advances that make AI ascendant now. The sum of all human knowledge is online, and brute force computing very loosely approximates the neural networks and talents of the brain. It took us about four or five years to figure out how to build the system. Once we did that, it was probably our most complex project we've ever undertaken.
