The Commitment on Public Information
Lipman and Edward Bernays both worked for what was called the Committee on Public Information, I love that name. This was a wartime propaganda institution built to do two things. First to spread or propagate pro intervention, pro war literature, art, music, anything in pop culture as well as academic arguments for intervention on the part of the US. The second task was to suppress discredit or destroy anything that was anti-war.
