The Consent of the Governed Is the Only Legitimate Basis for Governance

There's this idea in political theory that the consent of the governed is the only legitimate basis for governance as a post like the divine right of kings. But should it go further? Should it actually be a public good? If it has that capacity to affect human behaviour at scale, what the fox should drive that right? And this well, and should every one? Would say it's that direction from the values of the people, from the superstructure to a healthy social structure that has the capacity itself to bi and guide direct the technology towards its goals. That is the critical direction that we must increase to make it through meta crisis.
