The Effects of Tissue Padding on Limb Occlusion Pressure

Tissue pattern coefficient is the delta between tourniquet inflation pressure and actual pressure on tissues. The more tissue padding you have, the less actual pressure reaches the tissue. Larger limbs need more pressure to reach occlusion than smaller limbs do. You might have noticed this if you are a physical therapist that works with patients at scale.
