A Deep Dive Into the Pamir's Wood for the First Time
Flight 70 crashed in the Pamir mountains of Tajikistan five years ago, killing all three people on board. No survivors were ever recovered from the remote crash site. The region was so desolate that no one had been able to get past border restrictions until 1997. Now it is safe enough for mountaineers to reach the plane and take photos there.
