The Mother of the 10,000 Things
Hinduism takes the unity of the entire universe really seriously. The fact that this thing does not abide by the rules of logic speaks to its unnamelessness. There's a long tradition of mother being associated with the earth and father with the sky. And so as daoism incorporates a lot of nature imagery in with its philosophy, it's not a stretch to associate mother with nature.
