The AOSCC: A Successful Space
I learned so much in the AOSCC. I think what was great about being a young person and working on a social issue that you find really critical is that you don't know what's possible and impossible. And we'd just come up with really creative interesting tactics. We hired every elephant suit in Australia to chase Tony Abbott and Julia Gillard around the country wearing them as climate elephants. So it was really interesting being involved in really creative tactics. The glue that you can create in youth organizing through creating a social experience or getting people to have lots of experience of learning. Often people would come to the AOCC having never learned anything about activism before and then meeting their sort of tribe
