In the late 80s early 90s i would have seen a coach who was focused on development and organization. But in mid or late 90s  i was looking at games based more so than sort of drill based if you like for want of a better term. The stimulus for me thinking of doing things differently was the head of department at Newman college he'd been trained in the UK to start every lesson with gameplay. Brian's lessons were about playing games and his description of designer games read like what brian was doing in his class.
