Pythagoreanism in Yamelicus' Time
The Amblicus and Proclus are both thought of as having a mathematical approach to philosophy. Their metaphysics is also highly mathematical, says the author. Yamelicus' work on Pythagoreanism shows that it was more than just a Platonic ideology. The two sides were there together in his vision of what an idea of philosopher should be - he himself would have subscribed to this view.
