Do You Think We Can Change Our Culture?
Status is a core driver of us biologically, but status doesn't have to be measured by how much stuff we own or have or have access to. In our culture at least so far and I think it's changing especially with young people is a bigger bank account and access to power has been the cultural carrot. So could you imagine the behavioral change in our culture if all of a sudden women preferred men who were great gardeners? We can shift our signals of what is approved and sought after, but right now most of that is gadgets and displays that are in commensurate with a less material intensive future.
