The myth of the metals is supposed to unify us as a society, but it's saying that we're all different. The gods aren't crazy, tey're not doing this thi's nonsense. We just can't have this sort of thing. Anda that seems to be the the magic trick that we need. It's a way to bring us altogether as a society,. while at the same time realizing that, no, we are not, in fact, all equal.
