Are You in a Position of Power?
There are psychological effects of having power that can make us even less attuned to the influence that we have over other people. People in positions of power tend to feel more like they can say no to things, so we tend not to feel as constrained by the situation or what other people want us to do when we're in a position of power. There's also some research showing that people in positions ofpower are less likely to take the perspective of others.
