The Problem With Liberals and Conservatives
Liberalism as it emerged from the Enlightenment period was dedicated to the proposition that government is inherently dangerous and it should be limited. Ant says there's a lot of people in the United States who at their core are classically liberal, just don't know it. The plurality of Americans registers independent voters, not either as Democrats or Republicans.
