Joseph Mengele and the Race Question

Joseph Mengele got his PhD in 1935 for a study of Jewish forebears. His thesis was criticized as unscientific, but he went on to lead the Gestapo's infamous "Final Solution" program. In 2008, modern geneticists analyzed Mengele's thesis and pointed out that he makes some basic statistical errors or failures of analysis.
