Stu Segal: Sam Peckinpah was the first one to do big squibs in your face. The fact that you're listening to a gaffer, the fact that as a producer of a show, anybody on that set felt empowered to walk up to you with an idea, that almost is impossible today. Jerry Seinfeld tells a story about a scene where, do you remember the dentist, right, the guy? And he says, no, what would be funny? The guy says, it'd be funny if the dentist took a hit of laughing gas.
