The second thing I can get in your way of productivity is undervaluing your time. The reason that demands like this being constantly available can even be made of your time is that you are assuming that someone else's time and needs are more valuable than your own. If you start to value your own time equitably you will see that it's easier to prioritize. This is going to help you to have the best of both worlds. You can get the work done but at the same time you can still have that rich social interaction that you really typically enjoy.
