Emergency Medicine Cases

CHAPTER

How to Do a Dual Sequential Defibrillation in the Emergency Department

Doctors like to make sure that the paramedics defibrillator remains on the patient in the orientation that the pads are currently on. Once we have our pads how we want them, when our machines are fully charged, we'll say we're all going to press the button on the count of three and then one, two, three defibrillate. So I find this much easier when both machines are on the same side, both different relators. And the other piece around room setup is I always have my chest compressor on the opposite side.
