How to Deal With Technical Depth in Software Development

Going into depth is often not such a bad thing. If you buy a house, for example, it might actually save you some money afterwards because you're not going to pay rent for an apartment anymore. The person who will pay back the debt is not necessarily the one who incurred the debt in the first place. So paying back technical debt in parts of the code that are not changed doesn't really make any sense at all.
