Idaho's Band Would Make It Illegal to Perform Nearly Any Abortion if a Pregnant Woman Is Suffering a Pregnancy Complication
Idaho's band would make it illegal to perform nearly any abortion, with narrow exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother. The d o j sued the state over that last exception earlier this month,. arguing that the band's narrow criteria violates a federal law requiring doctors to offer emergency medical treatment. It's the department's first litigation on reproductive rights after the supreme court overturned rove wade earlier this summer. A judge has said that he will hand down a decision by wed Wednesday.
