Is There a Resonance Between the South and California?
"I do feel that there is a, there's some kind of like resonance between the South and California," she says. "You sweat a lot here just like in Mississippi." She recalls her grandmother trying to make black girls have long straight hair so they could walk to the car when it was 92% humidity. The singer-songwriter also talks about how L.A. has been congested but not as bad as New York.
