The AI Technology That Can Cut the Time That Patients Have to Wait Before Starting Cancer Radiotherapy Treatment

Cambridge University has developed a new type of artificial intelligence. Called Hither 2, it can recognise and highlight the healthy tissues in a patient's body scan that an X-ray radiotherapy dose needs to avoid hitting. This also reduces the time it takes cancer specialists to map out a patient's radiotherapy regime dramatically speeding up their treatment. The technology will now be offered at cost price to all NHS trusts across England.
