Timothy Stanley: I think song is a critical important part of singing, as Paul did. He says the movement from glory to humanity is like a king becoming a slave. In his dark days in prison, there's a lot of depression; you don't know if you're going to live. And so every time Paul goes to prison, which was many, he says, he's possibly not getting out.
