Is DBT a Good Modeling Platform for Business Intelligence?
There is a lot of debate and conversation happening right now about this modeling and kind of semantics layer of the analytics and business intelligence experience. And so what you can do in Omni is sort of promote a query that you have written to be part of your shared data model. But actually you can go a step further than that too and you can promote it from Omni into your DBT repository, right? We think all of those approaches, a combination of them is appropriate depending on the use case.

Business intelligence has gone through many generational shifts, but each generation has largely maintained the same workflow. Data analysts create reports that are used by the business to understand and direct the business, but the process is very labor and time intensive. The team at Omni have taken a new approach by automatically building models based on the queries that are executed.
