Because in every other country, like in Indonesia and other countries, they are usually evicted out of the power structure. But in India, what happens in the name of continuity? And maybe one can say there was some need for continuity. The new elite is actually drawn from this collaborator class. These guys continue. In fact, they go out of their way to push out people who are not from the ilk.
