The Evolution of Pheromones

The first New York state entomologist in the 1880s anticipated that pheromones would be powerful. If you release enough of these synthetic pheromone, the males can't find the females and don't fertilize them without fertile eggs. And most of the apples we buy today have some pheromon protection. That's evolution, but that's manipulated evolution. So is this a good thing? A very good thing.
