George Washington Carver and the Peanut Lobby
Carver is always known as the peanut man and your thesis is that it's a lot more than just peanuts. In January 1921 he shows up before Congress on behalf of the Peanut Lobby to shill his product. Carver was the first black man in America to have an advanced degree in agricultural science. He worked at Tuskegee Institute which was Booker T. Washington's University of York school.
