Are You Seeing a Return to Talent?
In the last 20 years, most of the increases in inequality come from people differences within the same educational groupings. I think we've sold a lot of people on the idea that if they simply went to a good college and showed up, that they would be rewarded at a high level. But the world is more interested in talent, is more interest in synthetic skills. Peoples skills are being more highly rewarded in labor markets,. Those are harder to measure in advance. The joining of ation and credential, i think, as bad, is kind of what tyleis getting at.
