The Predatory System

In the 90s, there was a push to try to make federal student loans more readily available. The idea being people that didn't graduate high school or having a tough time were going to try and make even easier for them to go to college. A couple years later, there was an article in the New York Times about these people are all going to drop out and then declare bankruptcy because they were already ill-equipped to graduate high school. And so what did Congress do? It went, don't worry. We will make it illegal for them to discharge their money through debt.
