React has a great unit testing library, and it does basically what you're saying that Cypress does. It's like having manual testers on the team as well. You always do a little bit of manual testing. But if I write an automated test, why would I have a manual tester then going manually test what I just automated tested? Like, I know it works. So same kind of argument. And so hence why it's common to start estads off at writing unit tests.
